Art as Meditation is a 2.5 hour weaving workshop, lead by Philadelphia-based artist, Hannah Dancing. Join us at Palo Santo Wellness Boutique in the beautiful and peaceful yoga studio for this cozy adventure!
The act of weaving encourages both focus and relaxation, which is fertile ground for meditation. During this workshop you will learn basic weaving skills to use as a foundation from which to explore mindfulness through creativity.
The workshop will begin with a short guided meditation to cleanse the mind’s palette, followed by weaving instruction. Once you have started your weaving, and are comfortable with the process, you will be free to let go and use your intuition to explore a wide array of colors and textures in the form of yarn and fabric. As you get into the rhythm of the weaving, there will be another short guided meditation as you weave, to help you focus into your craft and find your balance.
This will be a fun and relaxing journey of creativity and expansion!
All materials will be provided (Looms, weaving tools, and yarn) and you will get to bring your loom home with you. Feel free to bring additional materials for yourself or to share. Please let us know if you will be bringing your own loom.
